A comfortable stay with good food. The onsen is decent and the view from the window is spectacular.

The room was quite spacious and the view of the mountains were great. The buffet breakfast and dinner were good. Staff were nice.

Wonderful

It is a very nice hotel. I stayed in the Kumamon room style. It was so cute. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style.

In the morning, there was an announcement in Japanese, so I had to use translate. It was fire alarm, but many guests didn’t leave the room because they didn’t know what happened. I rushed to 1st floor, but actually it was false alarm. This disturbed our rest time. Therefore, the hotel should’ve announcement in English.

The view of the hotel amd room exactly. The dinner is buffet and there are many foods available, including crab.

The public bath, located on the 1st floor, is a bit far from the room (need to take an elevator down).

I wish there are more front desk can speak more English. Thank you for your hospitality.

Indoor pools are clean, lots of space and not crowded.

The dinner buffet is average - too many deep fry items but not good. Breakfast buffet is a little better because of more vegetable dishes.

Dated hotel in need of makeover but overall still an ok choice

Snow crab, dinner and breakfast provided in hotel is very convenient. Hotel is well located to mt aso sights.

Rooms were dated, worn. There were some stains on the tatami. Onsen felt tired as well. Price considered steep.

Big property hotel in a relaxing environment in the Aso region

KAMENOI HOTEL Aso is a nice property with great facilities, especially for families I would assume. Staff was very helpful. The onsen is great to relax both indoors and outdoors. Local milk-based products at the buffet were fantastic.

I feel this is a very big hotel which focuses on foreigners now, and lost quite a bit of its local touch. It has aged a bit too. the buffet-style food was really busy with choices that might not feel really Japanese. Access is also slightly complicated if you can't take a taxi.

Very good service, facilities and bathhouse. But you can get a cell instead of a room.

Amazing service. Best I experienced in Japan. Location was fantastic with great view. The bathhouse (onsen) very good with outdoor pool. Expensive but very good restaurants. Fantastic bakery and souvenir shop with handcrafted goods. This hotel would get a 10/10 but…

The room was the worst I have in three weeks of staying in hotels around Japan! Don’t get me wrong it was overall clean enough and had comfortable bed. But it felt like a prison cell. It has a view on a brick wall and ac-machine. (See the picture). The bathroom had calcium stains everywhere, sink had orange circle around the drain in a sink and it was 2* hotel modular bathroom installed in the room. It was like someone converted old storage into a hotel room and installed this thing as a bathroom and forgot to clean it! You should really have a check of the bathroom cleaning service. The room was heartless and depressing without a hint of design whatsoever. Card: we want to be green so if possible take your garbage with you is just ridiculous! You just want to save money on garbage removal as you pack all amenities in plastics!

Wonderful

Facilities around the hotel has lots of variety for families. My kids love golfing area. And the big lawn for multipurpose use. We chose Kumamon room. It is new and cute. Food is good with lots of variety. Ramen at night is delicious. Hotel has washing machine but dryer took more than hour to dry even only 8-10 pcs of clothes.

Onzen is very old. The hotel switch Men and Women everyday. lol It is quite new to me.

Spectacular view of Mt Aso

Location of hotel is at good point where you can go to Mt Aso and Kumamoto if you want. Big parking lots and property. I booked with meals options so if you don’t wanna to go out, food is there. Onsen is one of the facilities which is big. Relax when you back from daily activities. Wi-Fi is also good. My booked room is big with Japanese style and western. It makes me feel good.

Breakfast and dinner were included in my booking. Buffet style but I thought it would have Japanese set?
